Walk-In Clinic Hours (No appointment needed):
Parents or guardians must accompany the child during the visit. Families should bring their child’s immunization records and health insurance information. The Health Department accepts Medicaid, Cigna, and Aetna insurance plans. Individuals verified as uninsured may be eligible to receive the vaccine at no cost. For appointments, eligibility requirements or questions please call 336-703-3100.
Measles is a highly contagious and potentially serious viral illness that can lead to pneumonia, brain inflammation, and even death. The virus can linger in the air for up to two hours and infects up to 90% of unvaccinated individuals exposed to it.
The MMR vaccine is a safe and highly effective tool to prevent measles, mumps, and rubella. Most individuals who receive two doses of the vaccine are protected for life. Vaccination not only protects children but also helps protect vulnerable members of the community who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons.
“These walk-in clinics offer families a convenient way to get their children caught up on important vaccines,” said Joshua Swift, Health Director. “The MMR vaccine—and other childhood immunizations—play a crucial role in keeping our schools and communities safe.”
