Spotted Lantern Fly Sniffing Dog Demonstration

Forsyth County Cooperative Extension hosted a Spotted Lantern Fly workshop in January. The fly, an invasive species located in Kernersville in June of 2022 poses a threat to vineyards, hops fields and general outdoor peace. North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has a detector dog trained to locate Spotted Lantern Fly egg masses. This unedited video shows the trainer, Chad Taylor working with a black retriever named Goose to locate four contained egg mass samples.
