Lunch & Learn About Gardening at Forks on Friday 2022!

Join us during fall 2022 for our Forks on Friday lecture series!

Forks on Friday is where garden forks meet dinner forks – bring your lunch and learning gardening skills at these classes on Fridays from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Programs will be held in-person at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center, 1450 Fairchild Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.

Registration for each program will be available 2 weeks prior to the program date on our Eventbrite page.

This year’s schedule is as follows:

September 9: Sneak Preview of Fall Plant Sale
Join us for an insider’s preview of some of the choice plants to be offered in the Forsyth County Extension Master Gardener Plant Sale. The sale will feature a wide variety of plants with emphasis on native plants.
September’s presenter is: Sheilah Lombardo, Forsyth County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer

Please join us for the Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Plant Sale on Saturday, September 17 from 8 AM to 2 PM!

October 7: Plant Apps Compared and Explained
This presentation will introduce you to plant identification apps for your phone. Learn how these apps work, understand their limitations, and experience how to submit photos for identification.
October’s presenter is: Adam Tran, Forsyth County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer

NEW TOPIC!: November 4: Bulbs in Your Backyard
Fall is the time to plant bulbs that will bloom in early spring. Join us on Zoom to learn more! Register on Zoom today.

November's presenter is: Leslie Rose, Extension Horticulture Agent

The following program will be rescheduled in early 2023.

Microgreens are flavorful, nutrition-dense, young seedlings of vegetables or herbs. Learn the basics of microgreen gardening and gain hands-on experience preparing and seeding trays using materials you likely already have.
Presenter will be: Celine Richard, Extension Horticulture Agent
