Interested in brooding poultry? There will be a "how to" Zoom held on Thursday, November 4 at 6:30 p.m. You must register at least one hour in advance of the workshop using Eventbrite in order to receive the Zoom meeting link. If you can't attend, but would like to watch the recording, please register and we will email you the link.
In addition, we are having a 4-H Poultry and Rabbit show on May 7, 2022 at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds for school-age youth that live in Davie, Davidson, Forsyth, or Yadkin Counties. Poultry will be purchased through these N.C. Cooperative Extension Centers. Youth will not be allowed to exhibit birds that they are already raising and/or purchase somewhere else. The chicks that are provided must be brooded, so youth will be required to participate in this brooding workshop, or will be required to watch the recording. Youth may show laying hens (which you get to keep after the show), meat-type birds (which must be returned to Extension at the show), or a rabbit (that you already own or purchase for the show and get to keep). In addition, we are having an egg decorating contest. Stay tuned for details. Youth wishing to participate in the egg-laying show may sign-up to purchase chicks by clicking here. Orders must be placed AND paid for using cash (exact change only), check, or 4-H scholarship dollars by December 17 at 5 p.m.
