The Forsyth County Department of Emergency Services continues to operate on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic response and recovery efforts. Last week, the Mobile Integrated Health Program, with its nine Community Paramedics, were tasked by Public Health to test all staff and inmates at the Forsyth County jail. In partnership with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the nine Community Paramedics were able to test over 900 persons at the jail in one and a half days.
Emergency Services continues to respond to medical emergencies and perform all aspects of its mission, while also pivoting as needed to take on additional missions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to this mission, Forsyth Emergency Services and its Community Paramedics have assisted its public health partners with COVID testing, contact tracing, and staffing a homeless shelter among other duties.
