Apply today to become an Extension Master Gardener Volunteer in Forsyth County!
Extension Master Gardener Volunteers (EMGVs) help N.C. Cooperative Extension deliver educational programs for the home gardener. Through the training course, volunteers learn about various aspects of horticulture and are trained to teach others about gardening. The course includes 40 hours of training, as well as a required commitment of 40 volunteer service hours. To learn more about the EMGV Program in Forsyth County, click here.
The EMGV Training Course in Forsyth County will be held on Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon. The course will begin on July 25 and continue through November. Volunteers in the training course must complete their 40 hours of volunteer service within one year of beginning the training course.
Return your application by Monday, June 17 to be considered for this year’s training course. Return your application by email to Extension Horticulture Agent Leslie Peck at lkpeck@ncsu.edu or by mail at 1450 Fairchild Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
Applicants will be invited to interview with the Extension Horticulture Agent prior to acceptance into the training course. There is a fee for the training course to cover class materials. A limited number of scholarships are available. Those interested in scholarship can indicate that on the application.
