On the Same Poem On the Same Poem welcomes Larry Barron, LB the Poet. LB, a North Carolina activist and Winston-Salem leader in the poetry community, will be our featured poet for Forsyth County Public Library’s On the Same Poem Luncheon, Thursday, April 26th at noon at the Forsyth County Central Library Auditorium. LB the Poet's featured poem is from his newest work, WORD - "The Poetic Evolution of a Black Man's Story". On the Same Poem Luncheon The On the Same Poem Luncheon has become a staple of National Poetry Month in Forsyth County. On the Same Poem (an extension of On the Same Page — the county’s annual Community Read Project) is the shared experience of reading and discussing a single poem, selected for the occasion by the featured poet. LB the Poet will be reading from Transitions. Over a brown bag lunch, participants will discuss the poem, facilitated by discussion leaders at each table. Larry Barron's Biography Larry Barron, LB the Poet, has traveled and performed all across NC and surrounding states striving to be the voice of inspiration, to empower not only our youth but our people. LB aspires to be the change in the community that so many speak of with a very hands on approach. LB is The Founder/Curator of The Word Of Mouth Wednesdays Experience(Every 2nd Wednesday)- A monthly poetry event showcasing many different forms of art! He is also the Founder of W.O.R.D Society- A collective group of performance poets who have traveled to various states performing on many stages, the biggest of 2017 being Headlining The NBTF2017 Midnight Poetry event. LB is The Co-founder of SLAM Winston, formerly known as Piedmont Slam. He has also started the monthly Word Of Mouth Poetry Slam(Every 2nd Saturday)with Grand Slam Master, Mr. Bob Moyer. As Founder W.O.R.D Society Youth, LB has started various youth poetry workshops around Winston Salem, partnering with the WS-FC Library System, The Josh Howard Foundation, Thirsty Inc., The Dream School, Authoring Action, and various other youth programs throughout the triad. He hopes to grow the poetry community starting with our youth!
