Mark Tucker began working for North Carolina Cooperative Extension after earning his Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degrees from NC State University. He began his 30-year Extension career by working with farmers. One of his early projects was helping tobacco farmers transition from the quota program to a contract system. As the Director of N.C. Cooperative Extension in Forsyth County, he helped establish Voluntary Agricultural Districts and complete the Farmland Protection Plan.
Mark Tucker has been integral in shaping Extension in Forsyth County into a dynamic organization that partners with numerous community programs and provides needed education and outreach services to citizens. Our staff wish him the best in the next phase of his life but know that his direction and guidance will be missed.
