This season, Forsyth Community Gardening is teaming up with the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program and Second Harvest Food Bank to offer a series of free garden tours and healthy cooking demonstrations featuring seasonal produce! Community Garden Mentors will share about their garden plantings and practices, and nutrition educators will teach participants to prepare a healthy recipe with vegetables from the garden.
The first ‘Cooking in the Garden’ program will be held on Monday, May 22 at 6:00 pm at the Forsyth Cooperative Extension Demonstration Garden, 1450 Fairchild Rd., Winston-Salem NC 27105. Spanish interpretation will be provided.
No registration is required; just come with an appetite to try new veggies and new recipes! Please bring a lawn chair if you have one, as the demonstration will be held outdoors (weather permitting).
