4-H National Youth Science Day is a day set aside during National 4-H Week for hundreds of thousands of youth from all around the nation to complete a single, innovative experiment and Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 has been designated as such.

To celebrate National Youth Science Day, Forsyth County 4-H will host approximately 60 middle school youth from the WS/FC Schools on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 9a.m.-1 p.m. at the Forsyth County Agriculture Building at 1450 Fairchild Road.

Students will have an opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with professionals from the aeronautics and aerospace industry, as well as PhD students from The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering. Youth will also learn engineering concepts, develop math skills, learn about nutrition and help solve a relevant, global issue.

In honor of National Science Day and National 4-H Week, the Millennium Center will “Go Green,” as the front of the building will be lit in green to show their support for Forsyth County 4-H. There will also be a photo shoot of WS/FC Schools 4-H participants, notable 4-H alumni and volunteers beginning at 7p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, on the steps of the Millennium Center.
