The City-County Planning Board is currently updating the 2015 Greenway Plan for Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. As part of this process, a prioritization of currently proposed greenways is being completed. Proposed greenways will be prioritized based on three criteria: connectivity, engineering feasibility, and public support. No new greenways are being proposed through this process. At this time, a determination of when or if the proposed greenways will be constructed has not been made.
A total of 19 greenways, proposed in either the 2015 Greenway Plan or subsequent area plans, have been evaluated and ranked based on connectivity and engineering feasibility. Through a series of public meetings, we will be assessing public support for the proposed greenways that ranked the highest in connectivity and engineering feasibility. A total of eight meetings will be held between January 18 and February 22. Each meeting will discuss a specific proposed greenway.
