Forsyth County’s Tanglewood Park is once again ablaze with the 19th annual Festival of Lights sponsored by Chick-Fil-A. The Festival of Lights is open nightly from November 20 through January 2, 2011 from 6:00 - 11:00 pm, including holidays.
The Festival of Lights began in 1992 as a 1.5 mile route with 25 displays. Today, the four mile route consists of 180 displays, 70 of which are animated, made with approximately one million lights. Every year Tanglewood Park adds or replaces light displays. This year, Tanglewood has a new dragon and ship in the popular Skilpot Lake area.
Visitors also have the chance to shop the 75 art and craft booths at the Red Barn Gift Shop or roast a marshmallow and drink hot chocolate by the fire.
