Governor Perdue has proclaimed September 18 – October 2 as “Litter Sweep” time in North Carolina and encourages citizens in all 100 counties to take an active role in making their communities cleaner.
NCDOT crews, Department of Correction inmates, Adopt-A-Highway volunteers, churches, civic organizations, schools, businesses and concerned citizens across the state will be cleaning roadsides. If you would like to organize a roadside cleanup, please coordinate it with the local NCDOT county maintenance office (336-896-7014), or the Adopt-A-Highway Coordinator (336-896-7014 – Darlene Bailey).
Working together we can reach our goal of clean and beautiful communities and a clean state for all North Carolinians!
