R.L. Horton Earns Credentials as Cert. Crime Scene Anyalyst

On April 9th, Investigator R. L. Horton earned the credentials as a Certified Crime Scene Analyst through the International Association for Identification (IAI). There are only ten Certified Crime Scene Analysts in North Carolina and 177 throughout the world.

Four levels of crime scene certification are available through the IAI. They are Certified Crime Scene Investigator, Certified Crime Scene Analyst, Certified Crime Scene Reconstructionist, and Certified Senior Crime Scene Analyst.

Investigator Horton has over three years experience in crime scene investigation with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and has well over 96 hours of instruction in Crime Scene Certification Board approved courses in the past five years. Testing consisted of 300 questions with a time limit of 4 hours and a passing rate of at least 75%. Investigator Horton is the second Crime Scene Investigator in the history of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office to achieve this certification and is the only current Crime Scene Investigator with this certification.
