On September 24th, Corporal K. Hampton responded to a trespassing call. The caller was extremely upset and frightened. She reported that a male subject, who she knew only by first name, had come to her house and was sitting outside refusing to leave. Corporal Hampton was initially unable to locate the suspect, but went above and beyond by conducting a search of the frightened victim’s house and assisting her in securing the windows and door prior to leaving.

Corporal Hampton conducted surveillance in the area for an additional forty minutes, hoping to locate the suspect. After waiting, just short of an hour, the suspect was observed leaving the area in a vehicle. Corporal Hampton and other units stopped the suspect and determined that he was intoxicated. Utilizing excellent interview skills, Corporal Hampton was able to get a confession from the suspect and charged him with trespassing. The suspect was also charged with DWI.
