County 4-H Flag Design Contest

Forsyth County 4-H is having a flag design contest. Draw a design that represents Forsyth County on paper. All entries will be judged and the winning entry made into a flag that will be on display at 4-H District Activity Day and NC 4-H Congress.

Flags should be:

  • Size: 3 ft. by 5 ft.
  • Flag Orientation: Horizontal
  • Single or Double Sided Flags are Acceptable
  • Material: May be constructed of any appropriate flag material chosen by the respective
  • county
  • Other: Include within stated dimensions a 2 1/2 inch pocket sewn along the left vertical flag
  • margin (and sewn closed at the top) that will accommodate a 1 1/2 inch wooden dowel. Do not sew grommets into your flag. Please make certain to sew the sleeve closed at the top so that the flag will stay on the pole when held upright.

Awards will be given for:

  • Most Creative - Originality
  • Best Design - Artistic
  • Best Visual Impact - Messaging
  • Best Use of Materials
  • Best Craftsmanship
  • Best Use of Official 4-H Clover

  • Best use of the State 4-H Council Theme - "Make Waves." (flags do NOT have to follow this theme)

To enter, email your design or share it on Google Drive with awbowman@ncsu.edu as a jpg, pdf, .pub, .doc, Google Slide, or Google Doc by May 31. Designs may be hand-drawn or drawn on the computer.
